Blueprints has long been one of the region's best bands, with the red-hot guitar and slide-guitar playing of George Deveny, stellar piano work of Dave Liddy, and rock-steady drumming of Oscar Crandall. They play a combination of American styles, including blues, rock, swing, boogie, r'n'b and folk, and feature strong original songs, and classics by great American masters.
They've opened shows for artists, including Sonny Landreth, the subdudes, Luther "Guitar Jr." Johnson, the Nighthawks, C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band, Asleep at the Wheel and others.
Blueprints has appeared in concert at the New York State Blues Festival, Chenango Blues Fest, Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute, Kirkland Art Center, Earlville Opera House, Little Falls Canal Days, Fireworks Over Central New York, and more.
George Deveny (vocals/guitar/slide guitar) George has appeared on bills with Freddie King, Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, Eddie Shaw Band (featuring Hubert Sumlin), Roomful of Blues, Jim Weider and the Honky Tonk Gurus, Peter Tosh, Kenny Neal, the Nighthawks, Mark Wenner, Lucky Petersen, The Kinsey Report, Roger McGuinn, Eddie Money, Black 47, Wolfman Jack, and others. As a songwriter, George contributed songs to Blueprints' House of Cards, and has had tunes featured on both "WOUR Rock of Central New York, Vol. 1 and 2" and the MVBS's "Mohawk Valley Blues, Vol. I." He produced and played guitar on Blueprints' all-original CD, "House of Cards," which received two SAMMY nominations, for Best CD and Producer in 1991, and "Burning Daylight" and "Latitude 62" for Don Paul Way, and John Savage's debut EP.
David Liddy (vocals/keyboards)
Dave is a dedicated practitioner of boogie-woogie, stride, blues and ragtime piano. He was a founding member of the Mossback Mule Band, and a featured player in Out of the Blue and String Bee. Dave has a wealth of real-world experience matched by few players, from the concerts and clubs of CNY to Mickey Gilley's in Houston, TX. He's an experienced songwriter, contributing tunes to Blueprints' "House of Cards" CD and to String Bee's two discs. He's opened shows for Jerry Portnoy, John Mooney, Orleans, Commander Cody, the Nighthawks, Buddy Rich, Freddie King, Pure Prairie League, Asleep at the Wheel, Hank Williams, Jr., George Thorogood, Charlie Daniels, and Harry Chapin, and has played on stage with Buddy Emmons, John Tichy, (Commander Cody) Charlie Daniels and Mark Wenner (the Nighthawks).
Oscar Crandall (drums) Always rock steady and in the groove, Oscar has opened for blues great Freddie King, Roger McGuinn, and one-hit wonder and, Stories. He also played on "Latitude 62" CD for Don Paul Way.
