As painful as it is, the Mohawk Valley Blues Society has come the difficult decision to cancel our annual Blues on the Beach summer picnic at Sylvan Beach. The inescapable fact is we are in the middle of a situation that no one really knows much about, as much as they say they do. We will not put our membership and other attendees at risk, however minimal that risk may be. As much fun as this event is, and as popular as it has become, the uncharted and turbulent waters of the coronavirus pandemic make cancellation of this year’s event the prudent thing to do. We, as do many of you, look forward to this event every year and it is disappointing, but rest assured it will return next July bigger and better than ever.
Monthly Jams to Resume
That being said, we are looking forward to resuming our other activities, including our monthly jams, which will be safely presented under the guidelines set forth by the State of New York. The next jam will be July 15 under the pavilion at Piggy Pat’s Steak and Alehouse, with all proper precautions being observed. We are also in the planning stages of our annual Mohawk Valley Harvest Blues show to be held in the fall when things are expected to return to some semblance of normalcy. Keep checking our Website or Facebook page for further details.

Chenier and the Red Hot Lousiana Band, Sharee Williams, Coco Montoya, Duke Robillard and Jerry Portnoy, Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials, John Hammond, the Nighthawks, Jimmy Thackery, Roxanne Potvin, Dave Gross, and many others.
The MVBS Jams are open to all blues musicians, and give our member artists a chance to play with each other, network and explore musically. For non-member jammers, they are an opportunity to see what the society is about, and why they should consider becoming a member.
